A Few Xmas gifts.....

I made my mom and Rod a few things for Christmas....

These are the two I remembered to take photos of :)

My mom liked my chalkboard I made for my kitchen so I decided to make her one also. Instead of using Normal black Chalkboard paint I decided to use the teal that we used for Maddux's chalkboard table we made him. And since this is for the kitchen.... I decided coffee was appropriate... Mmmm coffeee.... one of the best things in life ;)

I found this Mirror at the Goodwill.. (well it was a mirror) and thought the shape was fun... so i painted the mirror with chalkboard paint. then painted the frame.. added the vinyl and hot glued the ribbon... because well i am not the best painter and there were some "issues" where the chalkboard paint met the brown paint... oops :)

And for Rod my step dad... I wanted to make him something since I made my mom something. But sometimes its hard to come up with ideas for guys... well they just got a new pool table... so I decided to make him this sign. I painted this piece of wood a light green color... then added the vinyl. Then painted the blue... then peeled the vinyl off... did a lot of sanding to make it look a little worn.... and well here we go... First attempt at something like this... isnt amazing. but pretty good. hopefully this gets better. ill have to work on it some more :)

Honeymoon Photo Collage

One of my bestest friends got married this year... and she had such fun photos from her honeymoon. I thought it would be nice for her to be able to display hers... I saw this idea on a showcase... but cant seem to find where i found the idea from!!!!!! but really i took the same concept as she did.
added photos to wooden disks.... and then added vinyl for a tile between them. I didnt have any fabric to cover the back of the frame... so i decided to hotglue pieces of ribbon... which i wouldnt do again... it took FOREVER!!!!! but I think it turned out pretty nice... Hopefully they like this... and this way they can display some of their best memories rather than have them tucked away into a book ...

Now this quote fit them perfectly :)
I hope they like it.
It looks so much better in person. I had a hard time with the dang flash on my camera. I swear one of these days I need to learn more about this camera.

Embrace The Camera

Last weekend we went to Shedd Aquarium with Maddux's God Mom. We had a great time... Maddux is at that stage where all he wants to do is walk. and if you try and pick him up... well hes not very happy. So chasing him around and getting to look at everything was a challenge :) But we still had a great time :)

Here are a few photos from our day :)

What a great day... We wore him out :)

Your turn... embrace the camera!

Cheap Quick Xmas present for a little girl :)

My neices love all things pretty. Glitter... Pink... on anything... make it amazing.

Well I buy them presents that we exchange at Nanas house. But this year Grandpa is coming over Christmas Eve to exchange presents.... so I thought I should have something for them on that day also.
I didnt want to spend too much.... so i came across the little potion bottle charm (2 of them for 1.50 at Joanns Fabrics) Then took some glitter... filled them glued down the top... added some ribbon I had on hand for the chain... and voila 2 gifts for 1.50 total. and I am pretty sure since it consists of glitter. they will be in love.
I will need to find a little story/poem/something to put in their about it being fairy dust to make it even more special... hopefully someone out there has made something :)

well here is a photo... if you have any last minute gifts you need for a little girl. this was soooo easy. and sooo inexpensive :)

Christmas Decor

I am starting to finally fall in love with my silhouette... learning how to use it more and more...

Here are a few things I used my vinyl cutter for....

Nothing too fancy. Still learning :)

Christmas Ornament :)

I have a few friends who got married this year. and I thought I would see how an ornament would work out.
Now I thought they could fill it with a few sentimental pieces from their wedding day for a keepsake. since i dont have any... i just filled this one with some sparkly rocks....

It was super easy.
I took a clear bulb from Michaels added the Mr & Mrs vinyl then filled the bulb... its adorable...

what do you think?
