Powder Room Facelift.

The previous owners apparently thought they wanted a bright sunny bathroom. Which maybe they loved and had it decorated all cute.
The site of it... almost gave me nightmares (OK slightly dramatic)
But I hated it! It wasn't a pretty shade of yellow. It was bright yellow...
Take a look for yourself.

Yes. Yellow.
The bathroom had the same honey oak trim and cabinetry that the rest of the house wears (which is not really my style)

So we decided since this was a small area this would be a good place to start. Start small.
So we painted the bathroom a grayish blue. and that immediately made a huge difference in itself.

So here is a break down of what we all did

Painted - $20
Framed out the mirror - $20
Re-caulked the sink {Free.. had on hand}
PaPainted the cabinet {Free... had on hand}
Added Hardware to the cabinet -$10
DIY Sea Fan Art - $25

We still need to change out the light fixture and paint the trim white.
But it is slowly getting there. Slowly. But it looks so much better.

And here is what our powder room looks like today

It is a tiny bathroom. So sorry for the not so great photos.

It is slowly getting there...

  1. SO much better. Super cute! Our half bath had a buttercup yellow trim and cabinets. Not sunny at all. Just awful! We painted white trim and painted the cabinet too and already it is so much better!!! Great job!

  4. Question for you, where did you get the directions on Framing out the mirror? And any tips for painting the cabinet? I want to do my small bathroom and I'm a nervous wreck about painting the cabinets (my husband too!)
