Happy Halloween

Hope you all enjoyed this Halloween with your families.. 

We had a great time trick or treating this year. Maddux picked up on concept of trick or treating rather fast and loved the idea of people just giving him candy! By the 2nd house he was in a full sprint...  all smiles ... delightful squeals coming out of this little Ewok... straight towards the doors... to the people with the candy!

It was so exciting today to watch him enjoy trick or treating. Kids bring back all the magic to holidays... it is awesome.

This past weekend all the grandkids went over to Nanas and painted pumpkins. I attempted to tape off a face with scotch tape (only thing I could find). Maddux loved painting the pumpkin!

Fall is sadly ending. quick. We had a busy day today and went from family photos, to the apple orchard... to the pumpkin patch. and my goodness it was cold. 

We ate apple donuts... pet some animals... rode ponies.. danced.. and had a fantastic time.

Maddux loved the live band at the Apple Orchard and loved shaking his booty to the music. He loves the mazes.. and all of the animals. And of course he loves the food!!!

Dining Room Bench

And finally I got around to tackling the dining room bench to go with the table we redid a few months ago. (still working on those chairs though... man I am dragging this out!)
I used Ana's Modern Farm Bench plans you can find here

We bought the wood... cut it to the sizes she specified.... and followed her assembly directions to a T. Now I can tell you I thought all of my boards were straight. I checked them... Checked them again. while building i found out they are not perfectly straight. (sigh) but I am still learning. So I will have imperfections here and there. the important thing is.... It looks good! and if I sit on it... it doesn't break. So Mission Accomplished.

Here she is sitting nicely with the table in our current dining room.

I was going to cover the screws... but decided I liked them. Maybe I am just lazy :)
Don't mind the random chairs. This is still a work in progress and we are getting ready to move... so life is a mess.  But I really love this bench.... and it was easy to build!

Getting into the Pumpkin Spirit

This past weekend my sister and her family came over to carve/paint pumpkins. My sister works crazy hours and with these three princesses... she is always on the go. So I get excited anytime we plan a time to get together.  Having the chance to get our kids together and recreate memories my mom and her sister did for us... makes me feel happy. It feels like its the way it should be.... like home.

 I got up Saturday morning... made sure I had coffee and pumpkin spice creamer for me and Holly. Donuts for the kiddos. Soda for the husbands...  and waited for them to arrive so we could make our pumpkins

Maddux and Aurora were mainly there to eat donuts. (And Maddux tried to kiss Aurora... but she was not interested... they will hate these photos someday!)

Kylie was very interested in helping Uncle Jerry clean out his pumpkin!

Alyssa was concentrated... and determined to create the most perfect pumpkin...

After he was full on donuts... Maddux decided he would help Daddy with his pumpkin

What a perfect Saturday morning :) One more thing checked off our Fall Family To Do list! :)
Only a few more weeks left to get everything checked off! :)

Our 1st House!

Finally after 2 months of waiting

We will be closing on this pretty lady and will soon be calling her home!

Hopefully we get a final closing date this week!!!!

I am so excited about all of the home projects ahead of us...Cant wait!

Embrace The Camera

I have been missing ETC days for a while now. Our camera broke... so we are working on replacing it..
And it is taking entirely too long...

We did get this shot about a week ago at the Apple Orchard :)
Every year we try and make it to the Apple Orchard a few times in the fall. Apple pie with cheese, Apple donuts, sweet corn salsa, pumpkin fudge... I could go on and on and on.

There is a play area for Maddux (which he loves), pony rides, live music.... so much fun!
