i am running late this morning and dont have time to find the actual post she did. but check out her blog... you wont be sorry.

But i loved this idea and had to make it... all it took was a bat punch out, scrapbook paper, and a frame... and voila... its adorable. i loved it so much that my mom and sister have been asking me to make them something so i made them each one of these :)

Quick Frame Makeover.

I am attempting to get rid of the gold in my living room... I bought these frames at Target a while back because... well they were cheap. so i decided to give them a little update along with the rest of our living room.
I spray painted them brown (and also my hand to go with it...oops) and then i decided to run some blue along the scroll... i was a little nervous... and Jerry wasnt on board with this thought at first either.
but I do like the way they turned out... take a look... Before and After pictures (note: i didnt have a before shot at our new place... but i did have this old photo on hand. )

Before:

And After :

so much better now :)

Embrace The Camera Day!!!

Last night I looked gross... but since i decided i would do this... i got over it and took the picture.

We just bought Maddux this toy last week. I really wanted to try and find one on Craigs List because I wasnt sure if he would like it or not... but luckily.. he loves it. so it makes it well worth the 50 bucks :)

We were having fun playing with the new table...

and just for added fun.... Look at this face :)

Such a cutie :)

Fall Flowers

Michaels had a sale on flowers the other day... now i am not much of a fake flower person. i can never make them look right. but i found these branches with tiny flowers and leaves on them. They are adorable... and the best part they cost me under 4 bucks :)

Sofa Table Makeover :)

I did not take a photo beforehand... because of course i didn't think about it.
But anyways. this table was given to me by Rod and my mom... and its a really nice table. Its was Oak... solid wood :)
It did have a few marks on the top... and the color of wood wasn't really matching our living room.
So after reading all of these blogs... and talking to my mom... we decided we would go ahead and give it a try and well
i love the way it turned out.... distressed and weathered... I love it :)

Here is what it looked like after sanding and painting it cream... at this point we were now taking the sandpaper to distress it up some...

Then we added on the smoked Glaze... for the final touches... and it looks so good :)

Its hard to get a shot of it from far away... so I decided to put in some shots close up of the detail...  Hopefully i can get some good shots in when i have some natural light.. these were done at night so the flash kept messing with the color.. the table is cream colored but in some of these it looks white... ill mess with it more this weekend :)

Grandparents Gifts

This past weekend was Grandparents Day...

So I have seen this idea used with wood blocks... but I didn't have any wood blocks... so I thought I would make due and see what I come up with.

I took a small canvas... painted them... then modge podged some fall paper onto them... added a ribbon.... hot glued on a clip to hold the photo.. and added a few embellishments here and there.
I thought these would be good since they can be put out as decoration in the fall... and since its made with a clip they can update the photo at any time :)

I made a few into magnets also. I figured my dad would prefer a magnet... and a few others might also :)

Here are a few photos. I hope they enjoy them!

Some of the magnets...

Here's a picture without the photo... using the clip they can easily update it :)

Embrace the Camera

So this weekend I made it a goal to get in a picture with Maddux. My husband is more than willing to do this with me and thinks its a great idea :)

So this is our first week of participating in Embrace The Camera

we went out to the Apple Orchard this weekend with Maddux... I am sure we will be out there quite a bit this year. Maddux was overwhelmed with all the people there (he loves to people watch so it was hard to get him to look at the camera)

We had a great time... and I know I will cherish these photos :)

More vintage Books

Like I said... i love vintage books. I just think the pictures are adorable.
My friend Lauren and I found this book and decided to make a collage....

i think i need to do something else to it... it looks to collage-ish to me... maybe i should frame it?

i dont know what i want to do to it exactly. I think its cute... but i needs something else.... I just cant figure out what...
any ideas???

Vintage Books :)

I love vintage books. I am not sure what I am going to do with this exactly. Right now I have it placed on top of our bookshelf with all of our books we have bought for Maddux. I am thinking when we get started on his play room I am going to try to use more of a vintage theme... Jerry would like to do Star Wars. but i think that since his "movie/game room" is already star wars... and is the next room over... i think i should get to have a say on his play room. Well lets face it... if i want it vintage... i will win. he can try and fight it all he wants... but at the end of the day... we will see who gets their way :)

I have a thing for buntings... a huge thing for them right now. so i came across this on another blog... i have been looking all morning trying to find it... and i cannot find it. so if anyone knows. please let me know.. and i will give credit who i stole this project from. Well anyways... she did it. and i fell in love with it. so i had to make one also... Hers was a little better... but i think mine turned out quite well :)

Birthday Carnival Frame

I have this ugly frame in our bedroom. That I have never really liked... so I decided to redo it.

Original Frame...

and after i spray painted it red and added the penant flags to match his party theme... it ended up looking like this. Hopefully i can stencil some letters on that say My First Birthday... or something ..

crayon molds

I made coloring books for Maddux's birthdy party... so i thought i would attempt some crayon molds. I found some on etsy and figured I could probably just make them myself. Well these were honestly a huge pain in the butt to make. I think next time I will just buy them and save myself the frustration. They did turn out okay though. Here's a few pics!!!

The magic of Bubbles

This is a photo I took of my niece at Easter.
She is nothing but adorable... she looks so much like my sister its scary.
Its weird how looking at this face brings back so many memories of my childhood. she is such a little mini Holly on every level... its unbelievable.

I love this picture... Kylie will do anything for Cookies... or Bubbles :)
