My DIY Shoe Closet

All females have an obsession with shoes. Somehow this was programmed within us. We love them.

My shoes were everywhere. There was no good way of storing them... they were a disaster.

We had this closet in our bedroom that was pretty pointless. Our walk in closet is in our master bathroom which holds all of our clothes. Then we had this tiny closet in our bedroom.

So one day... while losing hours of my life browsing Pinterest. I saw shoes closet after shoe closet. Now granted. These shoe closets were unreal... and beyond anything I could even dream of.
But it got me thinking...
I have a closet that has no purpose...
and I have a ton of shoes

Here is the before:

So bada bing bada boom.
Shoe closet.

And the after:

Now nothing fancy. Just a place for my shoes to live... and I like it.
I might add some hooks on the sides for purses or scarves. we will have to see what I need once our master closet is done... The basket at the bottom currently holds my flip flops :)
I do love that these are now all organized... and I can see all of them rather than digging through my bin of shoes!


We bought the cheapest brackets we could find... Then added molding to the shelves. Simplest project ever!


and now the random tiny closet now has a purpose.
One small step towards being more organized for 2012 :)
